One of the most viral moments in history was caused by the online argument over whether #TheDress was white and gold or black and blue.
Eight years ago, one of the most famous discussions in online history began over a wedding dress with a contentious color pattern.
But now the husband associated with the Tumblr post featuring the “dress that broke the internet” has now been charged with attempted murder.
According to records from the Scottish Courts, Keir Johnston, 38, was charged with the attempted murder of his wife Grace in the High Court in Glasgow.
According to the United Kingdom news outlets The Times, The National Desk, and Metro UK, Johnston is accused of an 11-year binge of domestic violence and coercive behavior towards his wife. These have been the bases for charging Johnston with attempted murder.
According to authorities, Johnston attempted to choke his wife, Grace, slammed her against a wall, engaged in verbally abusive behavior, threatened to kill her, and frightened her with a knife. According to The Times, the allegations stem from a series of alleged occurrences that took place between April 2019 and March 2022 which caused Johnston to be accused of attempted murder.
The union took place in 2015, and the couple now calls Scotland’s Isle of Colonsay home. The Times claims that Johnston has refuted the accusations of attempted murder.
When Grace’s mother Cecilia was deciding which dress to wear to her daughter’s wedding, she sent the bride a picture of the outfit. The bride claimed that she and her mother then got into a discussion about the dress’ color, which swiftly spread to other guests at the wedding and eventually on the Internet.
The article soon received popularity online and comments from many of the biggest stars in the world, including Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, and others.
An unsuccessful or abandoned murderous effort is referred to as an attempted murder. Similar to other crimes, attempted murder involves both a physical act and a malicious purpose. An individual must directly approach the victim and have the deliberate intent to kill them in order to be charged with attempted murder.
