A new Texas bill aiming to allow extra funds for Gulf Coast protection projects was vetoed despite receiving support.
New Texas Bill for Gulf Coast Protection Projects Funding Rejected Over Technical Wording
A new Texas bill called House Bill 2416, aiming to provide a funding account for the future protection projects of the Gulf Coast, was vetoed due to some issues regarding technical wording found inside the new Texas bill.
Under the new Texas bill, lawmakers also seek to allow extra funds for the Gulf Coast protection projects that need sufficient funding and investments as the new Texas bill also aims to protect various parts of Texas when hurricanes and severe storms hit the state.
However, Texas Governor had to veto the new Texas bill due to some concerns about how the bill was poorly written despite receiving lots of support from other lawmakers because of how the state would greatly benefit if the new Texas bill passed into law and implemented.
New Texas Bill for Gulf Coast Funding Expected to Have Different Wording Following Veto
Individuals and groups who initially supported the bill for the Gulf Coast projects expect the new Texas bill to have changes in technical wording to show the real intended purpose of the new Texas bill.
Aside from lawmakers, the state’s Governor stated that he was also looking forward to seeing the improvement and changes in the new Texas bill, Community Impact reported.
