A tragic incident unfolded at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana, as police officer Heather Glenn confronted a man, resulting in a deadly exchange of gunfire that claimed the lives of police officer Heather Glenn and the suspect.

The other individual involved was Sean Hubert, a 34-year-old resident of Tell City. According to state police, Sgt. Heather Glenn was at the hospital investigating a domestic dispute between Hubert and a female victim who sought medical attention for her injuries. In response to the victim’s alert that Hubert was en route to the hospital, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies swiftly arrived at the scene. Sgt. Heather Glenn attempted to apprehend Hubert, but he allegedly refused to cooperate. Heather Glenn’s efforts to subdue him with an electronic weapon proved futile.
A brief struggle ensued, during which Hubert brandished a firearm, shooting Sgt. Heather Glenn. In a swift response, officers from the Tell City Police Department and the Cannelton Police Department returned fire, ultimately fatally shooting Hubert. Tragically, both Sgt. Heather Glenn and Sean Hubert succumbed to their injuries despite receiving immediate medical attention.

Police Chief Derrick Lawalin expressed the department’s immense sorrow, emphasizing Heather Glenn’s integral role within the force. Chief Lawalin also extended condolences and prayers to Hubert’s family.
This devastating incident follows the recent death of an Indiana trooper, who was fatally struck by a suspect’s vehicle, amplifying the heartbreak experienced by law enforcement and communities across the state. Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales took to social media to express his condolences, acknowledging the sacrifices made by officers like Sgt. Heather Glenn to safeguard the lives of Hoosiers.
The city of Tell City, with a population of 7,500 residents, is situated approximately 150 miles south of Indianapolis.
