A man who was arrested after exchanging sexual photographs and videos with a teenage boy and attempted to kill him using Bitcoin but accepted imprisonment last February, was sentenced last Tuesday to 78 months imprisonment.

John Michael Musbach pleaded guilty and accepted imprisonment last February to one count of intentionally foreign commerce or the internet with the intent that a killing will be committed.

The man sentenced to 78 months imprisonment case came to light in 2015 when the parents of the teenage victim found out about the unsuitable online exchanges of sexual photos and videos of their son and Musbach. The victim’s parents contacted the police, and he was arrested in March 2016.

The man who was sentenced to 78 months imprisonment decided to kill his child-porn victim to avoid him testifying in court against him in his pending criminal case.

The man lately sentenced to imprisonment is guilty of murder-for-hire through an internet website on the dark web and asked if his victim was too young of a target. When he heard back that age wasn’t an issue in his case, he paid 40 bitcoins for the killing.

Last February, he pleaded guilty to the case against him and accepted his imprisonment. Last Tuesday, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to 78 months imprisonment.
