The DOC confirmed the identity of the deceased individual, stating that Elliott passed away while in prison custody at the Two Rivers Correctional Institution

Elliott, aged 36, was taken into DOC custody on October 4, 2016, from Marion County, with no specified release date. The next of kin has been duly informed of his demise.

The tragic case involving Elliott received prior coverage from KATU, where he stood trial and was ultimately found guilty of killing his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter and inflicting harm upon her 5-year-old sibling. According to court records, the young girl was discovered submerged face down in the bathtub.

Elliott had subjected her to repeated strikes to the abdomen, causing her to vomit persistently for three days

The medical examiner determined her death to be a homicide, attributing it to “cerebral anoxia due to near drowning after blunt force abdominal trauma.” As per standard procedure for all in-custody deaths, the Oregon State Police have been promptly informed of the situation.
