The Carjacking Task Force of the Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrests of two 15-year-old males and one 16-year-old male, all residents of the southeastern part of the city.
Three juveniles from Washington, D.C. were apprehended on Saturday following a crime spree involving a series of armed carjackings and robberies
The crimes occurred on June 16, starting at approximately 3:00 a.m. According to law enforcement officials, the suspects began their spree by blocking a vehicle on B Street using their own car and then proceeded to threaten the victim with guns, forcing them out of their vehicle. The suspects fled the scene in both the victim’s car and their own. Around 4:30 a.m., the suspects approached another individual on New Jersey Avenue.
One of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings, which were not specified by the police. After the victim complied, the suspect fled. Five minutes later, the suspects targeted another vehicle on East Capitol Street, where they exited their vehicles, brandished their guns, and ordered the victim to exit. They then took the victim’s car, along with their own and the previously stolen vehicle.

The three suspects fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. The juveniles are also accused of other similar incidents that occurred during the early morning hours, with the last recorded incident happening just before 6:50 a.m.
During the final incident, the suspects robbed a victim at gunpoint and took their money. All three individuals have been charged with five counts of armed carjacking, three counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted armed carjacking with a firearm, and one count of attempted armed robbery with a firearm. The investigation into these incidents is ongoing, and the police urge anyone with relevant information to contact them.
To aid in the capture and conviction of individuals responsible for violent crimes in Washington, D.C., the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information leading to their arrest and conviction.
