The upcoming store will be situated at a different location on Highway 60 and 15th Street, serving as a replacement for the existing Harps store in town.
The Pawhuska City Council gave its approval for a partial sales tax rebate to be granted to a new Harps store
Notably, the new establishment will be significantly larger, surpassing the current 20,000-square-foot space. The owners of the Harps franchise have committed $7.2 million towards the construction of this expanded store. J. Max Van Hoose, one of the owners, expressed his optimism that the new location will offer greater convenience to residents of Pawhuska and the surrounding areas.
The decision to grant the tax rebate was reached through a vote, with a majority of 4-1 in favor. It is worth mentioning that this agreement comes one year after the initial proposal was introduced. Presently, the city of Pawhuska imposes a four percent sales tax on purchases made within its jurisdiction.
