According to authorities, Andrew Tate, a social media figure well-known for his online expression of misogynistic ideas, has been accused in Romania of sexual assault, trafficking in people, and organizing a group to abuse women.

According to Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, authorities also brought charges over Tate’s brother Tristan and 2 Romanian women in a court in Bucharest.

The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism claimed in a statement that the 4 suspects established a criminal organization in 2021 “intending to engage in the charge of human trafficking” in Romania as well as the US and UK.

7 female victims, according to the organization, were brought to Romania after being deceived and exposed to group assault and sexual abuse. As per the statement, one suspect has been charged with raping a woman repeatedly in March 2022.

Since 2017, Tate, 36, has lived in Romania. The former professional kickboxer has maintained time and time again that Romanian authorities lack proof and that the prosecution is an attempt to shut down him through political strategies.
