The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a report early Saturday about multiple gunshot victims at a residence in Carson, located approximately 17 miles south of Los Angeles.
A shooting incident in Los Angeles County has left eight people injured, with two in critical condition
The shooting took place outside a home in a cul-de-sac where a gathering of around 20 to 30 people was underway, as stated by deputies during a news conference. The victims’ ages ranged from 16 to 24, as confirmed by Chief Myron Johnson of the Sheriff’s Department Countywide Services Division. Johnson described the victims’ injuries as multiple gunshot wounds, affecting various parts of their bodies, including the head, back, and upper and lower body areas.
Upon arrival, deputies found five victims who had been shot. A witness informed them that two additional victims had already been taken to a hospital before their arrival.

Chief Myron Johnson provided more details, stating, “When deputies arrived, they found that a 16-year-old male of Hispanic descent had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body.” Out of the six victims who were not in critical condition, one has already been released from the hospital. Fortunately, all the victims are expected to survive their injuries.
While the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, Lt. Rick Conti revealed that there might have been a preceding altercation. However, he assured the public that there is no immediate danger, stating, “We don’t believe there’s a wild gunman just randomly shooting people.” At present, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
