Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials promptly alerted Massachusetts State Police, who questioned and subsequently arrested Jones at the airport. The TSA shared an image of the seized firearms with CBS News. Following the arrest, state police confirmed that Jones faced multiple charges, including possession of a concealed weapon in a secure airport area, possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.

Jack Jones, who had recently completed his rookie season after being selected by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, had appeared in 13 games during the previous season, securing two interceptions and making 30 tackles.
State police indicated that Jones was granted bail set at $50,000 and is scheduled to be arraigned in court next week. The repercussions of this incident remain to be seen, as both the team and the legal system await further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the presence of the loaded firearms in Jones’s luggage.
