Following the proposed changes introduced by the California governor on the building and permitting process, Democrats refused to include the proposal to the current state budget plan in their version due to its possible impacts on the residents.
The California governor pushes the proposed changes to the process of building and permitting in the state to make building several infrastructures, including bridges, faster and easier so the budget would be maximized.
However, Democrats and other lawmakers claimed that his proposal only led to his real motive of continuing the project of building the Delta tunnel, which will re-route the water movement and change the state’s water system.

Despite individuals supporting the proposed changes to the building and permitting process in California, several lawmakers opposed the plan and claimed that pushing through the Delta tunnel would hurt the residents and even aquatic animals.
Critics also claimed that the proposed changes would not provide relief in the state but would affect the water sources most residents used for years, Independent reported.
