Jurors found a young Michigan lady guilty of murdering her sleeping father, Konrad Imirowicz, by pouring lye on him on Thursday. Megan Joyce Imirowicz, 19, was visibly disturbed throughout the day, with tears running down her cheeks and her face twisted in apparent pain during final remarks. The tears flowed freely as the guilty verdict for unlawful possession or use of dangerous devices/irritants causing death was read.
She faces life in prison.
According to Oakland County prosecutors, Imirowicz applied lye on her sleeping father on October 1, 2021. Konrad Imirowicz, 64, died on March 6, 2022, three months after being taken off life support and five months after the attack. During closing arguments, the victim told detectives he didn’t know who did it, as his daughter’s defense counsel pointed out.
The victim told investigators he didn’t know who killed him, as evidenced by Fred Miller’s closing arguments.Despite claiming to have only one Smirnoff ice, investigators determined Konrad Imirowicz had a blood alcohol level of 0.3, which is more than four times the legal driving limit, according to the defense.
Miller criticized the investigation as incompetent, alleging that detectives forced a false confession from his client, who had just recently turned 18, by cramming her into a car while interrogating her.

“Their job is to get a confession,” he explained, adding that officials obtained one.
The prosecution, on the other hand, maintained that she did not hurl objects at her father when investigators first spoke with her. She devised the plan of tossing bread at him. Prosecutors said she tried to downplay her guilt.
Imirwicz lied to investigators about how she found out about her father’s burns.
“She’s trying to make herself look better here,” assistant prosecutor Jason DeSantis explained.
The sentence is scheduled for July 25.
