Several UN Peacekeepers in Central African Republic Will Be Sent Back Home Following Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Allegations
Sixty UN peacekeepers based in the Central African Republic are set to be sent back home if the allegations about eleven others being involved in sexual abuse and exploitation are confirmed after the investigation is completed.
According to authorities, they received several reports about eleven UN peacekeepers sexually abusing and exploiting four victims during their duties, adding to the never-ending rumors about peacekeepers sexually abusing and raping victims, including minors and children.
Aside from the recent sexual abuse and exploitation allegations, there were already more than 400 UN peacekeepers accused of sexual abuse, and several others had been repatriated due to credible reports.

UN Peacekeepers’ Victims Receive Protection Following Investigation of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation
Following the investigation of sexual abuse and exploitation against the eleven UN peacekeepers, the four victims, allegedly minors, received necessary protections and support, including psychosocial and medical needs.
The unit of the involved UN peacekeepers to the sexual abuse and exploitation allegations were immediately relocated to another base during the investigation, AP News reported.
