ROWLETT, Texas (TCD) — A 78-year-old woman was shot dead by an 83-year-old man allegedly after an argument about her new relationship.

According to a press statement from the Rowlett Police Department, officers responded to a complaint of an unconscious person in the 8500 block of Seafield Lane on Saturday, June 3, at about 6:50 p.m. Officers arrived on the site and discovered Sharon Radebaugh inside her house with a fatal gunshot wound. She was proclaimed deceased by authorities there.

The main suspect was identified by police as Wilson Elliott of Trinity, Texas.

According to authorities, the incident “stemmed from a previous relationship,” and Elliott confessed that he fatally shot Radebaugh “after a confrontation over her new relationship,” the shooting was “not a random act of violence,” according to investigators.

On Sunday, June 4, Elliot was charged with murder and had a $1 million bond set. The district attorney’s office for Dallas County will formally bring charges.
