AN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. (TCD) – A 30-year-old man was detained last week on suspicion of sex crimes against a 12-year-old child.
Officials secured a $8 million arrest warrant for Antonio Arbaca-Callejas, alleging he assaulted and impregnated the victim, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office. After the original investigation was initiated, he allegedly fled the country.
Authorities, according to the Sheriff’s Office, worked with the victim’s family throughout the investigation.
Arbaca-Callejas was apprehended after officials tracked him down.
Arbaca-Callejas was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on multiple charges on Thursday, June 1, including felony child rape, lewd or lascivious acts of a child under 14, special allegations sex crimes, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and oral copulation of a victim under 10. He is still being held without bail and is due to appear in court on June 16.
