Based on a poll released on Thursday, two-thirds of California voters believe Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., is no more qualified to hold her position.
According to a survey by the Institute of Governmental Studies at UC Berkeley, 67% of California’s eligible voters think that Feinstein’s most recent sickness makes her unable to hold public office. Only 42% of those surveyed believed she must leave, indicating that not all of them agreed with them.
31% of respondents indicated they were unsure, while 27% thought Feinstein should stay in the Senate till the conclusion of her tenure.
According to 67% of respondents, they concurred with the statement that “Feinstein’s recent illness highlights the reality that she is not anymore able to keep her seat in the U.S. Senate.”
From May 17 to May 22, 7,465 California-eligible voters were polled by UC Berkeley. Randomly selected voters on the state’s voter list received emails inviting them to participate in a nonpartisan online poll. The English and Spanish versions of the emails and poll were offered.
