The upcoming U.S. presidential election was in 2020. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador advised Latino voters never to support Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, charging that the Republican candidate is attempting to gain support on behalf of immigrants.

DeSantis stated on Wednesday that he might run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 and pledged to erect a wall along the Mexican border. This announcement was the most recent in several tough remarks on immigration that he claims appeals to Latino voters who need strict enforcement.

Lopez Obrador blew off those remarks.

Lopez Obrador stated at a press conference hosted by the government that “his entire game of politics regarding migrants was since he wished to be the Republican party candidate.” I’m hoping Florida’s Hispanics wake up and avoid voting for him.
