Following the former president’s repetition of his remarks at a CNN town hall, E. Jean Carroll has requested a judge to modify her first defamation lawsuit against him to seek further severe compensation.

After a civil jury verdict a last few weeks ago declaring that Trump sexually assaulted Carroll and gave her $5 million, an appeal was submitted in a letter to the judge asking for clarification on the first lawsuit.

Trump’s multiple defamatory claims throughout the town hall last month, according to Carroll’s lawyers, directly address the topic of punishable damages, that are meant to punish the party found at fault.

Carroll’s first complaint, which involves remarks Trump delivered in 2019 when he was president and was delayed on appeal, was filed. Trump’s 2022 comment was an issue in the trial.

Following the trial, an appeals court ordered that the lower court judge review the first lawsuit. The court will decide whether it proceeds or not.
