Marine Vet Daniel Penny was charged with manslaughter after choking to death Jordan Neely who is said to have been threatening and scaring passengers in a subway.

Mentally Challenged man choke to death after rampaging in a subway station

30-year-old Jordan Neely, was a homeless man in a subway station, causing trouble due to his mental illness. He keep on saying that he will kill people on the train even if he goes to jail. the incident happened on May, when entered the subway and acting wildly. Daniel Penny who was one of the passengers dragged Neely outside of the train and put him in the ground holding him, Neely was said to be resisting so hard that pushed Penny to hold harder till choking him to death.

Daniel Penny is a college student and a marine veteran with many wards, and his act has torn lawyers that it is out of self-defense for himself and for the other passengers in the train. A fund raiser was being handled by his attorney’s through GivesendGo a crowd funding site and they couldn’t believe the outpouring support for Penny.

They have collected more than $1M for Penny’s legal journey and said that Daniel was exceptionally thankful for the support of the people in New York. An anonymous donor has given $10,000, one over $2,500 and one in the Person of Brett Kingstone gave $1,000. expressing their gratitude towards the veteran. Neely has been arrested multiple times, for assaulting people in 2019 and 2021.

The money that will be left after the legal needs of Penny will be donated to New York mental health advocacy program. Although Penny’s deed was in good faith, it has divided the city, some called him savior while others call him a killer.
