Senate Labor Committee Will Propose Bill to Raise Minimum Wage to $17 Per Hour
The Senate Labor Committee is expected to propose a bill in June to increase the minimum wage to $17 per hour in different sectors.
According to Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), the Senate Labor Committee wanted to pass the minimum wage hike because they believed employees who are spending 40-50 hours a week working deserve a wage increase.
The Senate Labor Committee also claimed that increasing the minimum wage will not only help the workers to earn more that will cater to their basic needs, but the bill they will propose will also help various industries and economic growth.

Senate Labor Committee to Propose $17 Per Hour Minimum Wage Increase After 2009
Suppose the Senate Labor Committee pushes the $17 per hour minimum wage increase. In that case, there will be a visible impact on the lives of people, especially now that the bills, housing rents, and other expenses are also increasing.
The last minimum wage increase was implemented in 2009 wherein the minimum wage was increased to $7.25 per hour, which is not big enough due to the high cost of living, Gray Washington News Bureau reported.
