The Labor and Industrial Relations Committee approved the Louisiana minimum wage bill. The new bill will increase salaries in Louisiana.

The Louisiana minimum wage bill will raise the salary to $10 per hour starting in 2024, $12 per hour in 2026, and $14 per hour in 2028.

The Louisiana minimum wage bill is part of Governor John Bel Edwards’s legislative proposals. He thanked everyone who supported the Louisiana minimum wage bill.

But the National Federation of Independent Business called the Louisiana minimum wage bill harmful and unnecessary. The new bill will force employees to make tough choices and to balance higher wages with rising costs.

The Louisiana minimum wage bill will now be debated in full Senate.
