Nebraska Woman Was Sentenced to 72 Years in Prison for Child Abuse Leading to Death
The Nebraska woman claimed she left the 5-year-old boy with her 12-year-old sister; however, opposed to her claims, her sister testified that she wasn’t at home during that time, which her other sister confirmed, AP News reported.
Due to the inconsistency of the Nebraska woman’s claims, authorities investigated the case and discovered severe injuries in the 5-year-old boy’s body, along with blood inside her home—strong evidence that the child suffered from child abuse.
The Nebraska woman pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 70 to 72 years in prison for child abuse, which resulted in a tragic death.
