A Ghana man was arrested after stealing almost $2.4 million in a wire fraud scheme.
Ghana Man Steals Almost $2.4 Million From Wisconsin Republican Party
Paul Williams Anti, a 59-year-old Ghana man, stole almost $2.4 million in a wire fraud scheme, and the victim was confirmed as the Wisconsin Republican Party despite not naming it in the documents.
The Ghana man faced embezzlement charges after the U.S. Department of Homeland Security discovered that he manipulated the email accounts of the state GOP employees.
During the investigation, authorities found out the Ghana man had already used nine different names and had 30 identification documents for stealing money through a wire fraud scheme, AP News reported.

Ghana Man Arrested After a Wire Fraud Scheme
The Ghana man was able to access the state GOP employees’ email accounts and manipulated them so that he could transfer funds, supposedly for vendors, into his bank accounts without any suspicions from the party.
However, the state GOP later discovered that he had accessed one of the employee’s accounts, which led to his arrest. If the Ghana man is convicted of the charges he was facing, he could be sentenced to 20 years in jail.
