Farm And Food Workers Relief Program Will Provide $41 Million Payment

The Cherokee Nation was among 15 agencies or governments selected to implement the Farm and Food Workers Relief Program to help eligible recipients, especially those affected when the pandemic hit.

The Farm and Food Workers Relief Program will provide $665 million in funds to support and give relief to eligible farm and food workers, which the Cherokee Nation will distribute through an online application process.

Through the Farm and Food Workers Relief Program, the Cherokee Nation can provide $41 million or a one-time $600 relief payment to each eligible applicant—a big relief to people facing financial burdens.

How To Be Eligible for The Farm and Food Workers Relief Program

To be eligible for the Farm and Food Workers Relief Program and receive a one-time $600 payment, the applicant must be a frontliner who worked in agriculture, meatpacking, and farming from January 27, 2020, to April 10, 2023.

News Channel reported that the Farm and Food Workers Relief Program would include other affected workers to eligible applicants for the relief payment when the funds are enough for more recipients.
