Texas workers expected another pay raise in the next years after seeing a 7.5 percent average increase in wages, with median annual pay of $55,600 in March.
According to People at Work 2023: A Global Workforce View, 75 percent of Texas workers expect an average pay raise of 6.7 percent after the evident wage increase in previous years.
The data from the mentioned global study showed that a pay raise in wages also helped workers be motivated to do their tasks and be productive at all times, eventually leading to career progression and advances, Houston Chronicle reported.

Pay Raise and Flexibility Leads to Career Progression
Pay raises not only increase workers’ salaries but also provide them the desire for more and have their career progress over time in flexible working environments.
Workers looked for flexible hours and environment along with the pay raise expectations, which can be seen from the recorded data of a 27 percent jump in career progression this year due to the pay raise.
Aside from a pay raise, flexibility is also a key focus for workers in Texas, especially after the pandemic, where several people can work in the comfort of their homes.
