When a huge wood container that appeared to be a delivery of cups that the staff of a restaurant in Maine has lately purchased had been opened, they were shocked.
Rather, they discovered a plastic bag containing what authorities believe to be 14 kilos (31 pounds) of the deadly synthetic narcotic fentanyl, which has a market value of $3 million, according to a statement released on Saturday by Auburn police Deputy Chief Timothy Cougle.
The restaurant’s address was printed on the packing slip for the bag, although the recipient was not an employee. When they opened it, the staff members believed they witnessed drugs, so they called the police, according to Cougle.
A chemical field examination at the police station revealed that the container from Arizona that had reached the Maine town approximately 30 miles (50 kilometers) north of Portland included fentanyl.
The individual whose identity was on the package walked up seeking the container approximately an hour afterward and was detained, according to the cops.
