Bipartisan legislators from Nevada and California are requesting that the Biden administration hurry the disbursement of federal funds for the rapid train line that would connect the Los Angeles region with Las Vegas.

4 California House members and every elected federal politician from Nevada joined the group in sending an email today. The Brightline West company’s plan to invest over $10 billion to build tracks alongside the 15 Freeway has the support of the legislators.

When finished, the railway will stop close to Hesperia, Rancho Cucamonga, Apple Valley, and the Las Vegas Strip. Alongside the High-Speed Rail Labor Coalition, which is “composed of 13 rail organizations covering over 160,000 freight, local, commuter, and commercial railroad employees,” Brightline reached a significant labor deal.

The business plans to start building this year with a 2027 opening for the bullet train.
