Howard Michael Mandel is a comedian, TV host, actor, and producer from Canada who was born on November 29, 1955. In both Gremlins (1984) and its sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990), Mandel provided the voice of the character Gizmo.
Career
Mandel featured in the Amy Steel comedy Walk Like a Man in 1987. Mandel played Dr. Wayne Fiscus, a rambunctious ER intern, in the NBC medical drama St. Elsewhere for a total of ten seasons, from 1982 to 1988. In addition, he also starred in and voiced the title character of the FOX kids’ show Bobby’s World.
He has also served as a judge on the NBC series America’s Got Talent since 2010, and on the Citytv series, Canada’s Got Talent from 2022. He was the host of the American version of Deal or No Deal on NBC and CNBC, as well as the midday version and the Canadian English version. He took over as host of Netflix’s Bullsh*t the Game Show in 2022.

Controversy
Fans of America’s Got Talent judge have expressed shock and anger at his most recent video. Howie superimposes himself over a shot of his friend behind; viewers of the graphic photo draw the conclusion that Howie’s friend has a “rectal prolapse.”
The controversial TikTok comes from a Canadian comic who says: “Something like this happened when my friend Neil leaned over… Is this something to do with COVID-19? The question then becomes, “Is this the case? If so, what can we do about it?” Ow.”
Fans were startled not just by the content of the photo, but also by Howie’s casual attitude and absence of a trigger warning. Tweets like “I hate myself I just seen the Howie Mandel video bye,” “Traumatized by Howie Mandel,” and “Should never have looked at that Howie Mandel video” were posted almost instantly.
Despite the outrage of his viewers, he has continued to upload new videos to TikTok, with comments like “We will never forget Howie” and “Howie please I still haven’t had time to recuperate from the last one,” as well as “Howie what is going on?”
The Agt Judge’s Unannounced Absence from The Hit Show
It was reported due to health reasons, adding fuel to the fire of the scandal. After only Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell were present for Tuesday’s audition session, it was confirmed that he had not shown up.
As Terry Crews, the show’s host, told the audience, “Howie is not here today, we wish him the best and hope he gets well soon and goes right back in that chair.”
Fans of the comic, understandably, flocked to Twitter to wonder where he was and why he wasn’t on the program, which had been taped months prior. Howie then said that he had contracted COVID-19 at the time.

The Howie Mandel Show: Howie Does Stuff
Howie Mandel Does Stuff is a podcast aired by Mandel and his daughter Jackelyn Shultz since February 2021. In the words of the Apple Podcasts preview, “Together, these two make prank calls, analyze pop culture, interview interesting people, say funny things, speak with listeners, get deep…”
Mandel hosts the first season of Bullsh*t the Game Show, which premiered on Netflix on April 27, 2022, and consisted of ten episodes. It was Mandel’s first game show appearance since CNBC axed the revival of Deal or No Deal earlier this year.
Contestants on this game show can win up to $1,000,000 if they correctly answer a series of trivia questions, but they must also be able to convince a panel of potential challengers that the answer they offer is correct, even if it is incorrect (i.e. by bullshitting).
If the contender gets the question right (or gets it wrong but convinces at least one judge that they are telling the truth), they advance. If they tell a falsehood and no one else buys it, they are eliminated. After each question, the judge whose guesses were closest to the truth moves on to the next competitor.
