According to St. Louis County Police Department, a car collided with a house in Lemay on Tuesday, killing one person.

At 2:26 p.m. on July 18, the accident occurred. Kingston Drive and Telegraph Road come together here.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit, the vehicle was going northbound on Kingston at a high rate of speed when it veered off the road, hit an embankment, and flew into the air. The automobile collided with a house, causing extensive damage. Another house was also damaged.

According to St. Louis County Police Department, the driver died at the site.

Cheryl Doyon of St. Louis was named as the victim Wednesday afternoon.

According to a representative for St. Louis County Police Department, “This was not a blatant speeding situation but may have been the result of a medical emergency.”

As of Tuesday evening, the woman’s identity had not been disclosed.

“This only happens in the movies,” Diane Wentzel stated.

She raced to the site to check on her adult son.

She later added that she was not sure how bad it was and she arrived there and witnessed how bad it was, she thinks they will be staying with them tonight.

According to the family, the car slammed into the house when a 2 to 3-year-old was seated on a bed in the bedroom. The collision drove the bed into the wall, preventing the infant from being hit.

“Could’ve totally hit him, yes. Missed him by inches,” Derek Wentzel said.

According to the interview done by the St. Louis County Police Department, he claims the infant belonged to one of his friends who was visiting the home. They were inside, along with his girlfriend. He was shocked to learn that the driver had died.

“I just hope she didn’t even realize what was going on,” Diane remarked.

Her son is now attempting to rescue all he can and return to some kind of normalcy.

“They said we might not be able to get into our house at all, and it might be a total loss,” he added.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, accident reconstruction investigators have been dispatched to the area.
